ISSUES LINA PRADO
As a mom, a role model, and an active member of the Bexar County community, it's my honor and commitment to drive the changes our community so desperately needs.

I will PROMOTE SAFER COMMUNITIES for our children and us by ensuring public safety resources are adequately provided and public safety professionals have proper training.

I will ADVOCATE FOR BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE. Many of our roads are dangerous making it difficult for both civilians and emergency vehicles to travel efficiently. I will allocate funding to improve our failing infrastructure here in Bexar County.

I pledge to PROMOTE FINANCIAL GROWTH by ensuring that jobs like yours and mine stay fair and equitable.

"It's Time To Prioritize Our Community, Not Politics"

Bexar County has always been about community, not partisan politics. As a lifelong advocate for proactive and meaningful change, I, Lina Prado, believe in putting people over party lines. While my opponent is counting on past victories and political alliances, my focus remains on tackling the issues that matter most to you, the citizens of Pct 1.

KEY POINTS

1. Focus on Local Issues

It’s easy to get distracted by national political conversations, but Bexar County’s needs should come first. I’m focused on improving infrastructure, making our streets safer, and ensuring access to quality public services. These everyday concerns don’t change with who’s at the top of the ticket.

For most of us, the struggles are simple but real: families waiting too long for road repairs, businesses dealing with red tape that stifles growth, or parents worried about safety when their kids play outside. Leadership isn’t about high-profile headlines; it’s about ensuring that when you drive to work, the roads are safe and smooth, that small businesses have a chance to thrive, and that our parks and schools are well-maintained. That’s the kind of leadership I’m offering.

2. Supporting Our Veterans

We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who served our country, yet too many of them are struggling right here in our own backyard. Veterans make up a significant part of our community, but many face challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, and lack of access to essential services.

As your next County Commissioner, I am committed to ensuring that our veterans have the support they deserve. This means partnering with local nonprofits, creating pathways to housing, and improving access to mental health services. No veteran should be sleeping on the streets or struggling to find the care they need after they have sacrificed so much for our nation.

This is not a partisan issue; it’s a human one. When veterans come home, they should have a community that honors their service not just with words but with real action and support. I will work to ensure that those who wore the uniform can find a safe place to call home and access to the mental health care they need to rebuild their lives.

3. Local Accountability

My opponent is banking on their political connections and the assumption that you’ll vote for the same name again. But this election is a chance to remind them that Bexar County deserves more than complacency. As your next County Commissioner, I will be accountable to you, not to special interests or party politics.

For too long, regular people have had to bear the brunt of bad leadership: longer commutes because of neglected roads, slow emergency response times, and increasing property taxes without seeing tangible improvements in our neighborhoods. You shouldn’t have to fight to get basic services from your local government. When decisions are made behind closed doors, it’s our families, our businesses, and our community that suffer. I promise transparency and to be a Commissioner who listens to you.

4. Balanced Leadership

While my stance may be conservative, my commitment is to everyone in our community—Republican, Democrat, or Independent. I know the value of collaboration, and I’m committed to bridging divides and focusing on practical, results-driven solutions that help all of us. Leadership isn’t about partisanship—it’s about getting things done.

I’ve met with families from every corner of Pct 1, and their concerns are the same: the need for good jobs, safe neighborhoods, and a chance for their children to succeed. These are not partisan issues—they are human ones. As your Commissioner, I will work with anyone who shares a vision for a better Bexar County, and I won’t let politics stand in the way of progress.

5. Economic Development and Local Solutions

I will work to bring more economic opportunities to our district, particularly focusing on small businesses, job creation, and infrastructure improvements. These are key areas where real progress can be made at the local level, where national politics have little impact.

When local businesses thrive, they hire locally, and our entire community prospers. But too many small business owners struggle with rising costs and a lack of support from local leadership. I’ve seen firsthand how red tape can prevent a new business from opening its doors, or how outdated policies can slow down much-needed investment in our neighborhoods. My commitment is to streamline these processes, to ensure that our district remains a place where businesses can flourish, and families can build a future.

For the single parent trying to start a business, the worker commuting long hours because local jobs are scarce, or the retiree on a fixed income facing rising living costs, these changes matter. My goal is to make Pct 1 a place where everyone can feel proud to live and work.

THE CHOICE IS CLEAR

This election is about choosing a candidate who will fight for Bexar County’s future, not for headlines or political gain. I’m running to bring real, positive change to Pct 1, and I humbly ask for your vote this November. Let’s focus on the issues that impact our daily lives, and together, let’s make sure Bexar County remains a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and communities can come together. Let’s build a community that truly honors its veterans and ensures every person has the support they need to succeed.
